I am pleased to announce that my website has moved.
Look no further, Today is your day! Today, is the start of Kansas City Restaurant Week. So what is Kansas City Restaurant Week, exactly?
An exhibition of Kansas City’s finest culinary talents, Kansas City Restaurant Week will offer a variety of mouth-watering foods from top chefs across the metro area, demonstrating why the KC dining scene is among the nation’s best–and up until now, one of the best-kept foodie secrets (the Zagat Survey has called Kansas City the No. 1 dining bargain of all the major cities it reviews).
Restaurant Week features an array of restaurant participants so diners can visit old favorites and also try the many new restaurants that have opened recently in the Kansas City metro area. KC Restaurant Week diners order from special prix-fixe menus at participating restaurants. Multi-course lunches are $15 and dinners are $33.
At these prices you can not afford to miss out. I want to hear all about your new eats and treats. So be sure come back and post comments on the restaurants you’ve selected and dined. I cant wait to hear from you! If you see me out, be sure to stop me and say “Hi”!
I am participating in Jen_Murph’s (via Instagram) 30 day closet remix challenge. What does the remix entail? You must not make any purchases for 30 days and you must find items in your closet to mix and match to develop new outfits.
30 days without spending any money, Is this possible? Well, Because I am a total thriftista, 30 days away from the Goodwill, Salvation Army, and Savers is like watching my child go off to college. All I can do is just wave bye and hope for the best until I see you at the end of the semester.
Here are a few of my outfits that I have remixed out of my closet thus far:
If you cant wait to see what I wore be sure to follow me on Instagram @fashionplatekc. If you want to join the closet remix challenge be sure to use hashtag #2014closetremixchallenge
Although my main focus is thrifting and food. I am going to bring you some special stories from myself and other women that will Motivate, Teach and Inspire you. I promise these stories will leave you wanting to read more. Be sure to ask questions or positively comment on the stories. I have never and will never allow any hurtful or abusive comments on my blog. Be prepared and I hope you love the stories as much as I do.

A few weeks ago, I attended the Farm to Market Bread Company’s Food Art Competition. While, there I fell in love with a beautiful and unique bird sitting in a nest all made of bread. It was an amazing breaded sculpture. I selected them as the winner on my ballet. I hope they won.
The name of the company that created this amazing bread sculpture is called Little Freshie. Little Freshie is located just north of downtown Kansas City. So, What is Little Freshie? Little Freshie is a hand crafted Soda Foundation and Espresso Bar. The bar is not like Happy Day’s, But a modern and clean little place that you can hang out for a quite date or just hang out.
I purchased the seasonal special Spicy Ginger Cider ($3.25). The sweet and slightly tart cider warms your tastebuds while the spicy ginger adds a spicy kick. After drinking this amazing little drinks, I will I ordered for larger size.
If you are looking to find a refreshing and unique place outside of the usual Starbucks. Then be sure to try local soda foundation and espresso bar Little Freshie. The menu offers unique and usual, but delicious flavors that leaves you wishing you tried more. Little Freshie also has housemade bakery treats to pair with your drinks. I suggest that you dont walk, but run to Little Freshie. It’s the type of place that will leave you saying to your friend, “Hey, Want to do lunch at Little Freshie?”
Little Freshie is located at 811 West 17th Street, KC, MO 64108

Can you believe 2013 is almost over? As the year comes to an end. I began to think of ways to receive tax write off’s and cleaning out my closet is one of the easiest ways. I am sure we all have items around the house we would love to get rid of.
I have began to clean up my
messy disorganized closet. Which I admit currently looks a little something like the picture above. With that being said, We can all play a part in helping others. When you donate your clothing or household items to places like The Goodwill or Salvation Army, you are helping others find work or helping families in need.
It’s a great way to give back and it’s also a great time to find new items to “add” to your closet or house after the New Year. As you know I am a huge supporter of thrifting. I personally believe right after the New Year is a great time to shop. Why? Because people are donating items for those year-end tax write-offs.
So hurry!! Be sure to go home today and clean out those closets or give some items that you are no longer using. Being charitable is always in style!
Learning to love the right way!
